nothing is waisted.
Somewhere along the way, we started believing that if something wasn’t useful, it wasn’t valuable.
But I don’t think that’s how creation works.
Or people, for that matter.
The most meaningful things in my life have rarely announced themselves as important while they were happening.
I think we underestimate how much of who we are is made up of things that looked insignificant at the time.
Maybe every beautiful experience is compost.
It disappears into the ground where we can’t see it.
and months later…sometimes even years later… it quietly becomes nourishment for something entirely different.
Nothing is waisted.
Beauty has a strange way of lingering
It settles into us and changes the way we notice.
The way we speak, The questions we ask.
The things we choose to make.
Even grief works this way.
The deepest losses rarely leave us empty.
Over time, they carve out space.
Space for compassion.
Space for gentleness.
Space for understanding someone else’s pain before they’ve even explained it.
Perhaps that’s what living is.
Collecting moments that don’t seem connected until one day they quietly become the person you are.
I don’t want to rush through life looking only for outcomes.
I want to become someone who trusts that paying attention is enough.
That lingering is enough.
That wonder is enough.
Because maybe nothing beautiful has ever asked to justify itself.
laughter isn’t meant to be efficient.
a sunset doesn’t need to accomplish anything.
Maybe the point of a walk isn’t to arrive somewhere.
Maybe beauty was never asking to be useful.
Only noticed.
And maybe that’s true of us, too.
