about field notes.
I’ve spent years working in creative fields: designing spaces, building brands, photographing stories…but the work has never been what interested me most.
It was always the question behind it:
Why does this make us feel something?
That’s what these field notes are.
They’re not tutorials.
They’re not travel guides.
They’re not design advice.
They’re simply a collection of observations, hyper-fixations, questions, thoughts i’ve collected and things I’ve noticed.
Sometimes that will be about architecture.
Sometimes it’s a family dinner.
Sometimes it’s a hotel lobby, a conversation, a photograph, or a quiet moment I don’t want to forget.
At first, they might not seem connected.
But to me, they all are.
Because they’re all asking the same question:
What makes places, people, and moments stay with us?
I don’t know that I’ll ever have the answer.
But I think paying attention is a pretty good place to start.
So these are my field notes.
Thanks for reading them!
